Final Paper Submission

Papers must be written in English.

Six (6) pages, including figures and references, are standard for each paper. For each additional page over the standard pages (6pages), we request 10,000 Yen for each additional page.

Abstract

Abstract, and a representative photo or a conceptual figure of the paper also must be submitted with the final paper.

Please make sure that all the fonts used in your abstracts and papers are EMBEDDED and SUBSETTED, especially for papers from Asia and Europe.

How to create PDF Files

Please modify "job options" of Acrobat Distiller as follows and create PDF Files.

• DO NOT use password protection in the PDF file.
  
• All fonts, including the standard (base) fonts, must be embedded and subsetted in the PDF.
  
• The compression settings are as follows. For grayscale and color images: (1) Resampling: Bicubic downsampling at 300 dpi, (2) Compression: JPEG, and (3) Quality: Medium. For monochrome images: (1) Resampling: Bicubic downsampling at 600dpi, and (2) Compression: CCITT Group 4.

Please follow the steps below with either Acrobat or the Acrobat Reader to check if all the fonts are successfully embedded and subsetted.

1. (Skip this step if using the Acrobat Reader) Under the View menu, be sure that "Use local fonts" is not checked.
   
2. On the Print panel, check "Print to file". This will cause Acrobat to try to assign fonts to all the fonts in the document.
   
3. Print the file.
   
4. Go to Document Properties -> Fonts.
   
5. In the Font Info panel, line one gives the original font name, it should say "Embedded Subset". Line two gives the font type (i.e., Type 1 or TrueType). In line three "Used Font".

Note that your PASSWORD and PAPER-ID are required for the final submission. If you don't have them, please follow the guideline in the submission web site.

Each final paper submission requires a new registration and an INQUIRY NUMBER before submission.
